Creating an ISO with DVD Shrink

This tutorial will walk you through how to make an ISO with DVD Shrink. From there it will also tell you how to burn it to a DVD with DVD Decrypter or  mount it virtually with Daemon tools.

What You’ll Need:
• DVD Shrink http://www.mrbass.org/dvdshrink/

• DVD Decrypter http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/
• Daemon Tools (Free) http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/announcements.php
• Alcohol 120% (Comercial) http://www.alcohol-soft.com/

1. Making the ISO (DVD Shrink method)
Create the ISO with which to either burn or mount virtually.

1. Download and Install DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter
2. Start DVD Shrink and insert your DVD

3. Click “Open Disc” Select the disk you wish to make the ISO from.

4. Click Ok This will begin the analysis of your DVD. This could take a few minutes.

5. Select the Disc For compression select “Automatic”, this will create an ISO that will fit onto a DVDR

6. Click “Back Up!” Select “ISO” from the drop down list. Select a directory to save your ISO to, you can always move it later.

Alternatively, you can select “Burn using DVD Decrypter”. This will create the ISO and automatically begin the burning procedure with DVD Decrytper. If prompted, simply select your DVD drive as the destination and click “Write”.

7. Hit OK to create the ISO in the specified directoy. It will then encode the ISO, this may take a while. The estimated time displayed will start out very high, this will lower and become more acurate wihtin a matter of minutes. To make the encode move faster, deslect “Enable Preview” box and limit other processes running on your computer.

2A. Mounting the ISO Virtually (Daemon Tools)
1. Install Daemon Tools This will require two restarts.
2. Mount ISO In your system tray, right click the daemon tools icon . Select “Virtual CDROM/DVDROM”, select “Device 0” and then select “Mount”. This will open a dialog, from here, select the ISO you wish to mount.[/b]

2B. Mounting the ISO Virtually (Daemon Tools)
1. Open Alcohol 120%
2. Mount ISO Right click and select “Add Image”. Select the ISO you wish to add and click “OK”. Right Click on the image file, select “Mount on device” and select a virtual drive to mount it on.

When mounting an ISO virtually with either Daemon Tools or Alcohol it will act just as if you inserted the DVD. You can from there either watch it using DVD Player software or even encode it using software like AutoGK.
